Singapore's largest convention centre and Singapore's largest
shopping mall.
|
This
section of the city also provides interesting insights into
the Muslim way of life brought by the Arabs many years ago when
they came to the region to trade. Batik, jewellery, cane ware,
leathers, and more can be found in the shophouses lining the
street, while the grand Sultan Mosque looms prominently in the
vicinity.
|
Little
India is the focal point of Singapore's Indian community. Here
you will find rows of handloom, copperware, spice, crockery,
goldsmith and fabric shops. See the disppearing trades of garland-makers,
betel-nut sellers and pots of yogurt.
|

The
hawkers markets and food stalls('pasar malam')come to life after
dark selling everything from clothing, trinkets, souvenirs to
roasted chestnuts to durian stores

For those sourcing for electronics and computer goods, Sim Lim Square
is the most popular place for computer buyers. |
